Tree Patrons

Irrigating public trees during dry season

Trees on the city streets are vulnerable to droughts in hot summers, and the ground near the tree may be compacted by cars, bikes, rubbish bins (e.g. which makes it harder for rainwater to reach the tree and is especially damaging to young trees). Citizens can become tree patrons for a specific tree near to their homes and thus receive guidance and support how to turn the tree base into a small flower or herb garden that protects and is beneficial to the tree and improves the city streetscape.

Costs: € - Costs include buying seeds or tools for creation and maintenance of the plot, but most of the investment for this project is person's time and dedication.
